DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
This position reports to the Plant Controller. The incumbent is responsible for monitoring plant systems and procedures to ensure adherence to local and corporate policy.
The incumbent analyzes and interprets the monthly financial performance by preparing monthly cost statements. The incumbent compares the result to planned objectives to get an evaluation of plant performance.
Through a joint effort with plant management, production control, plant service groups and accounting, the incumbent coordinates and summarizes monthly financial objectives. These objectives are then used to establish a course of action, which will maximize operating efficiencies and provide full utilization of plant and production capacities.
The incumbent monitors the efforts of the AP/Receiving and Payroll function at the plant level to ensure that required procedures are adhered to. The incumbent monitors departmental performances to plan by comparing actual performance to predetermined estimates. Through this review, problem areas are determined and corrective steps can be taken, where necessary, to ensure achievement of final goals. The incumbent performs a variety of accounting/financial analyses, some of which are of a confidential nature, and makes recommendations to management based on these studies.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors Degree in Accounting.
Knowledge in the use and application of mainframe Production and Inventory Control and Accounting systems.
Three to five years experience in a manufacturing environment required.
Proficiency in the Microsoft Suite of products including Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
